The Opera House Theater Company presents Carousel, one of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s most enduring musicals. Set in small town New England, the story explores the ill-fated love affair between the swaggering, carefree carnival barker Billy Bigelow and Julie Jordan, the trusting mill worker whose heart he steals. The show is ultimately an uplifting story of the power of forgiveness and belief in the human spirit.

7th Annual Cardinal Strut

Backyard BBQ Cookoff (Fundraiser for Step Up Soldiers)
The Backyard BBQ Cook-Off at Carolina Beach Lake Park features more than two dozen culinary competitors and benefits Step Up for Soldiers, a volunteer group that works to provide resources and recognition to recently disabled veterans. The event will also feature a raffle, entertainment, and live music by Kenny Reeves & Trainwreck (11am to 1pm) and Gary Lowder and the Smokin’ Hots (2-5pm).
